Antec GX700 Case Review

GX700 Install and Testing

Antec GX700 Install

Installation of a system in the GX700 follows a pretty standard process. We begin by installing our PSU in the bottom of the case and then add the standoffs required for our motherboard (ATX, mATX or Mini-ITX). From there we can add our up to 17.2cm cooler (in this case Antec's Kuhler 620) and memory before thinking about wiring.

Various holes in the motherboard tray allow us to run wiring behind the board to keep the build reasonably tidy and once the cables are in place along with our drives we simply drop in the graphics card with 11.5" models supported.

In our case we went with a Core-i7 3770K CPU, Antec Kuhler 620, 2x8GB of DDR3, Radeon 7970 GPU, 512GB SSD and 500GB SATA drive (thermal test only).

Results

Overall the temperatures above are decent for a mainstream system such as this... and actually a little impressive considering they were taken on the lowest fan speed. We did move the factory installed rear fan to the front intake location after installing the cooler though, so that does promote airflow somewhat.
