In the first of our "true" real world tests we have created three file copy scenarios which cover operations which users are likely to perform on a regular basis. We copy a folder of 27GB (game) and then multiple files totalling 1.1GB (Music) as well as a single 4GB item (video) from location to location within the drive, recording the time taken to complete the task.
In this test we once again see the M5M managing to compete with some desktop drives. The 2.5" models do tend to move ahead as the file size increases but in day to day transfers the results are similar. Looking to the other mSATA drive the result is a lot clearer cut with Plextor easily outperforming the last generation Intel model.
