Looking first at the power readings from the new Razer Blade we get a good idle figure with the Intel GPU helping to minimise power use. Load readings are not surprising at 145w for the i7 CPU and GTX 660M however we really are pushing the limits of the bundled PSU... a common occurrence for mobile gaming systems. Noise levels remain low at all times on the Blade, even when gaming, and it seems Razer have been able to balance the fan/thermal profiles well. We were also pleased to see that the 91°C temp on the Blade did not transfer into a hot base and we were able to use the system on our lap without issue while gaming.
Now for the battery results:
In this test we are using Powermark and the balanced profile which loads the CPU with internet, HD video and word processing tasks shows the battery level to be pretty good for a gaming system, though not great in the realms of Ultrabooks. Charge time is pretty standard though.
