Fractal Design Node 304 Mini-ITX Case Review

The Node 304

It is clear from the front panel on this case that Fractal Design want the system to blend into the environment as we have a nearly blank panel here. The company logo and a single LED are all that can be found on the brushed aluminium front.

Turning round to the side we find two USB 3.0, 3.5mm audio in/out and a power button with the top surface of the system being blank other than an intake vent across the front edge.

The Node 304 measures 250x210x374mm and weighs 4.9KG with a volume of 19.5 litres.

On the right side of the case we find an exhaust vent covered in perforated metal which sits beside the PSU area. Then round at the right we have a larger dust filtered intake which would sit alongside a graphics card.

On the base of the case we find four rubber feet and another dust filtered intake (PSU fan). Turning round to the back of the Node we see that there is a 140mm Silent Series R2 hydraulic bearing fan (1000rpm) with the area also supporting 12cm models. A small switch for fan speed is found at the top right and beneath that there are two expansion slots which sit to the right of the motherboard I/O location. The slots also have a cover to lock cards in place.
