NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB Graphics Card Launch Review
There has been quite a lot of change in the graphics card marketplace over the last month or so due to the release of numerous new AMD cards. A few were just rebrands of existing products but at the high end we saw the launch of R9 290 and R9 290X. These were based on the Hawaii GPU and were designed to challenge NVIDIAs GTX 780 and Titan. That was a much needed debut as the GTX 780 and Titan had been leading the way in performance since launch.
Clearly NVIDIA were waiting to see what AMD could offer at the high end before committing a new product to market... after all, when you have the class leading GPU there isn't a need to release a higher performing part until the competition catches up. So NVIDIAs answer to AMDs recent R9 290X launch is the GTX 780 Ti which pushes the Titan very much into the professional arena and takes its place at the top of the gaming stack. We will be putting it up against the R9 290X and GTX 780 (overclocked) in a selection of games including Battlefield 4 and Batman: Arkham Origins.
