We are using the final retail version of Crysis for this test, testing was performed at very high settings with no anti-aliasing and 16x Anisotropic filtering.
Crysis gives us the opportunity to push the products harder than any other game in this review and the results in this test are more about how well each card performs in a worst case scenario than actually finding playable settings. At 1280x768 the maximum detail levels show us that the 8800 GT is more suited to Crysis than either of the Radeons. Even the stock clocked GT has a minimum frames per second result of double the ATI parts. It is likely that performance will increase with driver updates but we would still put our money on the Nvidia cards outperforming ATI.
