Introduction

When OCZ took over PC Power & Cooling, many people believed that they would stop marketing power supplies under their own brand name, however this has not been the case. Surprisingly their new units are not copies of PC Power & Cooling units as others would immediately assume, however even though their core design is different they are certainly sharing some design ethics.

Today we will review one of the higher end new OCZ units, the EliteXstream 800W supply. The EliteXstream is a high performance PSU, designed to appeal to hardware enthusiasts who above all else value top electrical performance. How good is it? Let’s find out.

Packaging and Bundle

The OCZ EliteXstream is supplied in a thick cardboard box which is covered with attractive artwork and sufficient data about the unit itself, thankfully it is well protected by Styrofoam pieces. The PSU should be very safe during shipping, given the thickness of the box. Inside the package you will find an AC power cable, four black 3M mounting screws, a couple of basic cable ties and an informative manual.
