From the moment we saw the packaging we knew it was going to be an impressive product. Inside the board was safely wrapped in protective foam with the cable secured separately and bundled extras contained in a tidy cardboard wallet. The overall bundle could be enhanced by adding a cleaning cloth due to the exceptional finish on the board which deserves to be kept in good condition.
Configuration of the Lycosa is quick and easy and the ability to add profiles for up to ten games and applications is a real benefit and should serve gamers as well as it does professionals. It was also impressive to see that mouse clicks can be included in macro combinations.
Daily use of a keyboard is where a product really succeeds or fails and we are happy to report that the Lycosa is a joy to use. After an initial short period of adjustment to typing on rubber keys (they really do feel strange to begin with) we realised that they actually provide an excellent feel and are very comfortable to use. This added to the slim key design and fast response make fast typing very easy.
With the Lycosa, Razer has struck the right balance between functionality and usability while adding a whole lot of style into the mix.
The Razer Lycosa keyboard can be found at OverClockers.co.uk for £63 (UK Edition) NewEgg.com for $79(US Edition)
