We benchmarked Lost Planet: Colonies at 1440x900 with the details set to medium. Anti aliasing is disabled and anisotropic filtering is set to 4x.

This is a game which heavily relies on the graphics processing power and it shows. The game is completely unplayable with most of our budget GFX cards. The ATi HD3450 based cards and the 8500GT card won’t be able to handle this game at any resolution, while the HD3650 based cards are only able to offer a playable framerate at 1024x768 and with low details. The game is playable at 1024x768 with the 8600GT as well, but there are scenes where the image becomes noticeably slow.

On the other hand, the XFX 9600GSO can easily run the game at 1440x900 with the details set to Medium and perform very well too, achieving  an average frame rate of 53 fps.
