x264 HD Video encoding
This benchmark in our suite tests the performance of one of the most popular H.264 encoders - open source X264. The results below are achieved from two passes the encoder makes through the video file. These are reported individually for further detail. The scores are tested with the newest 0.59.819 build of the x264 executable.
These results are absolutely devastating and really do show the benefits of the new architecture which is being tested today. Achieving over 60 frames per second in the second pass is a new record by a considerable margin. The Opteron by comparison struggles to get 35 frames per second.
