When enthusiasts are looking for high performance power supply units, it is almost certain that we would find a couple of units designed by Seasonic in their final shortlist. Seasonic currently design a very large percentage of high performance power supplies being released into the retail market. Until some time ago Seasonic directly have focused on the OEM market, therefore it would be rare to find a Seasonic branded retail product on store shelves.
Lately however Seasonic have decided to release many high performance retail products under their own brand name, releasing several very successful and highly popular power supplies. A fine example was the
M12D series which we reviewed some time ago and it still is a favorite among enthusiasts who look for the best possible overall performance.
As good as the M12D series might be Seasonic are not the kind of company who would rest on their laurels. Seasonic have released a brand new line-up of units, dubbed the X-Series. Boasting even higher performance than the M12D series, a full modular design and an 80Plus Gold certification, these might be the best performing power supply units money can currently buy. With this is mind we look at the 650w unit in their new range today.
