Sapphire Radeon HD5450 512MB - Introduction
In September 2009 ATI released their 5000 series of DirectX 11 capable graphics cards with the introduction of the 5870 and 5850. This was followed in October by the mainstream 5770 and in November the ultra-high end 5970 dual GPU card was released. December was a quiet month for ATI but in January we saw the introduction of their first card which could be considered as an option for consumers on a tight budget, the 5670. Today ATI increase the affordability of their 5000 series with the introduction of the 5450, a £35/$45 model which they hope will take the budget marketplace by storm.
Today we will be running Sapphire’s version of the card through a selection of real world gaming scenarios as well as GPU computing tasks and media playback tests. Read on to find out how the card compares to the main competitor in the same price range.
