Aliens VS Predator - DirectX 9/11

Everyone is familiar with the Aliens VS Predator franchise, this time Sega have rebooted the licence taking over from Sierra. AVP is a DirectX 11 game, which means we have advanced shadow rendering and high-quality tessellation for compatible cards.

Testing was performed at 1920x1200 with 2x anti-aliasing and maximum in-game settings.

Aliens Vs. Predator is the latest DirectX 11 title to be released, meaning we have four available with six announced as in development.

When looking at the results for Aliens vs. Predator it is important to remember that the GTX 275 is running at a lower detail level than the three Radeon cards. We are unable to turn on in-game anti-aliasing, tessellation or advanced shadows. The result is higher framerates but a gameplay experience which is not as attractive.

Looking to the comparison between the three Radeon cards we see the 5830 placed exactly as we would expect between the 5770 and 5850. It is closer to the 5850 in performance which is always good to see, as is its ability to run at 1920x1200 with 2x anti-aliasing and full detail/effects.
