Sharkoon SATA QuickPort Pro LAN

The QuickPort Pro is supplied in a reasonably substantial cardboard box that should provide an adequate level of protection during transit. The front and rear of the box display basic information about the QuickPort Pro with the sides of the box containing this in more detail. Sharkoon provide all the cables we need to use the Quickport Pro; USB2.0, eSATA, and RJ-45 Ethernet.

In terms of build quality, the QuickPort Pro is quite reasonable. It seems solid in construction and the plastics used are of good quality. The unit is finished in matte-black plastic and is generally quite simple in design.

On the front of the unit we find two USB ports and a multimedia card reader. These can be used with the USB and network functionality of the docking station so the user can access their USB devices and multimedia cards on a number of machines simultaneously.

The QuickPort Pro LAN supports both 2.5" and 3.5" SATA hard drives which are both inserted into the slot in the top of the unit. Both types of drive are held securely by the docking station; there is a flap that keeps 2.5" drives in place which folds back when 3.5" drives are inserted. The QuickPort Pro LAN is more feature packed than its name suggests; it also supports USB2.0 and eSATA connections alongside LAN.
