When running a single discrete graphics card each of our 800 series motherboards performs very well. Even the more budget conscious models such as the ASRock 880G compare well with the more expensive 890FX boards. Where things differ is in CrossFire mode where the dual 16x slots of the 890FX allow it extra bandwidth to maximise performance. The end result, with a set of 5870s, is an average increase of nearly 5 frames per second.
