CoolIT ECO A.L.C. - Introduction

At the end of 2008 CoolIT Systems completely changed how mainstream users viewed liquid cooling. Their launch of the Domino cooler gave those with little knowledge or experience a simple solution for installing a liquid cooler in their system with minimal fuss. At the time we found that “CoolIT have created an affordable, flexible and easy to use product which performs better than top performing air coolers, yet it costs as little as pumps from some manufacturers.” and awarded it our Silver Award. Since then that same cooler served us well, though it wasn’t long before another company tried to steal CoolIT’s crown as having the best, most user friendly liquid cooler. That company was Corsair and their product was the H50.

Today on our test bench we have CoolIT’s latest product, the ECO A.L.C. which shares the same design ethic as the Domino but revises many aspects in the hope of a product which will be preferable to the H50. We will be running each through a selection of tests on our Intel Core i7-980X CPU to find out which is the best choice for those wanting a simple, easy to use liquid cooler.
