We’ve been using Aquamark 3 in our graphics card reviews for a while now, what we haven’t used in those reviews is the CPU score and so here we have a breakdown of two things. Firstly how well both processors score in the CPU test and secondly how the processors increase or decrease the graphics card performance.

 

 

Aquamark 3 is the first test where the results really start to separate from processor to processor. The first result of note is the very low performance of the Athlon 64. This result occurred over multiple runs of the benchmark and may be related to a bug in Aquamark 3 however it was repeatable. From the other CPU’s the Athlon XP is really left behind in the speed stakes with the Athlon FX-51 and p4 3.0ghz scoring over 9000. The P4 result is exceptionally good, a full 5% faster than the Athlon FX.
