Unreal Tournament 2003 is another test which has featured in our graphics card reviews, the top of the range graphics cards have been showing crazy results in the Flyby scores (200+ fps) however they have always been limited in by the Athlon XP, especially in Botmatch. Based on the Aquamark results we’d expect the Athlon FX/P4 to improve on both scores…

 

 

At 800x600 the Unreal Tournament 2003 results show the Pentium 4 and Athlon 64 almost equal in performance. The Athlon FX shows an excellent performance lead over the other 2 processors 17.8% in Flyby and 22.8% in Botmatch,

Moving up to 1024x768 where performance is more limited by the gfx card (Geforce FX 5900XT) the results of the flyby test become closer. The Athlon 64 shows quite a high drop in performance, almost twice the drop of the Pentium 4 and the Athlon FX continues to show its raw power leading by a significant margin again.
