Final words and conclusion

Akasa have designed and produced a fine PSU and called it the PowerMax 1000W. It is able to reach its rated output without any issues and the voltage regulation circuit does a fine job. The thermal performance and the efficiency of the unit are excellent while it also stays quiet across most of its output range. Overall the performance of the unit is not going to disappoint anybody.

On the aesthetics side of things the unit is quite simple and while it certainly doesn’t look special it is not displeasing. The long cables might be a problem to organize in a smaller chassis however. Another positive would be the price tag. While it cannot be considered cheap, it is one of the most aggressively priced 1000W units and costs significantly less than many other 1000W units. So if you are looking for a very powerful, quiet and efficient PSU and you do not mind or care about the rather simple styling, the Akasa PowerMax 1000W may be just the supply for you.
