Conclusion:
Our
past experiences with Antec products always have
been positive, and the experience we have had
with the SOLO case is no exception. The case is
very well put together with no sharp edges anywhere
and the layout is also very good with excellent
attention to detail. Installing a rather big motherboard
such as the Asus P5W DH used in this review didn’t
cause any problems. Routing the cables in the
Antec SOLO was also very easy mainly because of
that little compartment on the right side of the
case; I didn’t spend more then 10 minutes
hiding the cables and that was with an un-sleeved
PSU and as you did see in the pictures it didn’t
look too shabby.
The
Piano black coating of the SOLO also gives it
that extra touch of elegance; the only drawback
with the coating is that it is very easily marked,
which will slightly distract from the overall
aesthetic appeal, especially if like me, you use
it in your living room beside a television. Be
prepared to keep it clean with some elbow grease!
It
is quite honestly hard to find a negative aspect
to the Antec SOLO; the only drawback would be
that it comes without a power supply. That said,
this case is aimed at the enthusiast who generally
already have a power supply or who wish to order
one to their personal requirements, rather than
being forced to use a specific model. So that
negative could equally be a strong point.
