Conclusion:
I must say that it has been an overall positive experience.
It’s a very easy to assemble kit, and it gives excellent
cooling performance. We have reviewed Asetek kits in the
past and always walked away satisfied. The main aspect
of this particular Asetek review was to test the new 12v
pump, and I must say that it has been hard to fault throughout
thorough testing over the course of a week. The only minor
complaint I would have about the pump is that it’s
a little on the large side; however, it has the reservoir
and the Integrated Print Circuit Board with fan connectors
that can run fans 24w/channel.
The possibility to control the fans with software from
Windows is another extremely practical touch and it has
to be said that throughout testing the pump remained quiet,
this is a BIG bonus as some of the kits we have reviewed
have been louder than their air cooled counterparts! After
all isn't one of the major points of watercooling to keep
noise levels to the lowest possible? Not only was the
KT03-12VS kit virtually silent it was able to outperform
the Thermalright XP-120 by at least 3°C.
So to sum up, Asetek have really delivered the goods
yet again, with excellent build quality, ease of assembly,
good performance under low noise conditions, the Waterchill
KT03-12VS wins the Heavenly Hardware Gold Award. Buy with
confidence.
