Final Words and Conclusion
What we did like
The Asus Arctic Square is a fantastic all round cooler. While it excels in no single area, it delivers excellent thermal performance without making a racket. It is also very attractive and should be a popular choice with enthusiast modders. The quality and finish of the cooler is excellent as well. We could not find a single dent or badly finished spot on our sample.
What we did not like
A negative aspect of the Asus Arctic Square is the time-consuming installation. The installation is not complex however it will certainly not be suitable for people who upgrade on a regular basis. Additionally, the size of the cooler could be a problem if you are looking for a compact cooler. Quite why Asus market this as "a compact design cooler" we have no idea, unless they meant to say “compact monster cooler” which could be more accurate. The cost of the cooler is also a negative as it is rather expensive (£39)
Who would we recommend it to
The Asus Arctic Square is a well balanced cooling solution for almost every kind of user; it will be a quiet solution for a regular PC user but also a high performance solution for an enthusiast. All in all, the Arctic Square is mostly suitable for those seeking an aesthetically appealing solution because of its symmetric design, hidden fan and attention to detail. The downside is the retail price of the cooler which is high by any measure.
Considering all of the above, we believe that the Asus Arctic Square is certainly worthy to be in your shopping shortlist hence it receives our DriverHeaven’s Shortlist Award.
