In terms of performance, the Be Quiet DarkPower Pro 1kW unit is one of the best power supply units we have ever seen. All of the voltage lines are very close to their rated outputs and barely fluctuate under severe load shifts. The voltage regulation circuit of the DarkPower Pro is exceptionally reliable, keeping all of the lines very stable under all conditions. And remember that we kept two of the 12V power lines out of the test entirely while pressing the other four 12V lines very close to their limit.But that’s not all. The DarkPower Pro 1kW unit is the first unit to ever reach 90% efficiency in our labs. The average efficiency of the unit is constantly above 85%, which is remarkable for any kind of power supply nowadays. This keeps the unit very cool and the fan didn’t have to speed up until the load exceeded 70% and even at 100% load did not become loud. Under 60% DC load the unit was practically inaudible at all times.
