Conclusion:
As
can be seen by the above test results, the CoolIT
RAM fan lives up to its claims to cool the RAM.
I’m very impressed with the results after
placing the temperature probe into the same location
both before and after the RAM fan installation.
For the RAM fan to make a difference of about
10C using only a single fan is quite significant.

CoolIT Systems, Inc. website lists several “Places
to Buy” so far I’ve only been able
to locate one
reseller of the RAM Fan: The
price listed here is: $19.99 US.
The
proof is in the testing and the results of this
testing show that the RAM fan is effective in
reducing overall RAM temperatures significantly.
By reducing the RAM temperature, it’s quite
easy to conclude that it can reduce the overall
system temperature as well. With less heat coming
from the RAM, temperatures inside the case will
also be less.
The
only real negative for this reviewer is that I’m
no fan of strobe lights. If CoolIT will consider
providing RAM fans with both Strobe lights and
no lights at all, I’d be an avid fan of
the RAM fan.
Being
that the RAM fan is so economical, easy to install,
and very effective, I can easily give this the
Editor’s Choice Award. Anything that can
reduce overall temperatures this much for so little
investment is something most anyone can consider
for their own upgrade.
