The Aquagate Mini R120
is a very good product all things considered.
It performs very well for its price and is easy
to install and work with especially for a watercooling
unit. It is compact and simple, so most people
won’t have a problem installing or using
it. Although it cannot rival high end watercooling
solutions, it is better than most air cooling
solutions therefore it makes a great solution
for someone wishing to cool their processor more
efficiently without the hassles generally associated
with high end watercooling units.
What
we did not like:
While
the pre-assembled system is generally a good idea,
it may not be a good idea for people who will
find the hoses being too short or interfering
with other components. The hoses appear to be
short enough to not allow the placement of the
radiator at the front of large full tower cases,
such as Lian-Li and Coolermaster full tower cases.
Of course you could install the radiator at the
rear of the case where the exhaust fans are, however
many cases do not have a 120mm exhaust hole at
the rear. Even though the cooler is quiet if you
adjust the fan speed via the rheostat, there is
a certain amount of pump noise so it may not appeal
to those users who want a totally silent system.
Who
would we recommend it to:
We feel that the Aquagate
Mini R120 from Coolermaster is a very successful
product; it performs better than most air coolers,
costs less than most watercooling kits and is
rather simple to use. It is an excellent product
for those who want something better than simple
air cooling but cheaper and less complex than
advanced watercooling. Most enthusiasts and casual
overclockers will enjoy this product very much.
Considering
the above, we believe that the Aquagate Mini R120
from Coolermaster is definitely worthy of our
Editor’s Choice Award.
