Conclusion:

There are some good ideas at work in the DXG 506V. Having a multi-use Camcorder/Voice Recorder/MP3 Player/PC Camera all wrapped up into one unit is an intriguing idea and an attractive combination. Very sadly, the combination just doesn’t work well on this unit. For my money, I’d have to look elsewhere to get the satisfaction of quality and functionality that’s lacking in the DXG 506V.

As much as I regret to do so, I really cannot give this product any award. If the price is right, it might make a cool stocking stuffer come Christmas-time. But, I’m afraid the novelty will wear off very quickly.

To answer the question that was asked earlier, “Does the DXG 506V impress us enough to want to own one?” the answer is, “No.” There’s a lot left to be desired before the 506V becomes attractive enough to make us open our wallets for one.
