Heaven Photoshop 2 Bench
Most people
are tired of running 3dmark and Pcmark and similar
benchmarks, while these are visually attractive
benchmarks they are not in many cases indicative
of real world situations, this is not the case with
Photoshop. This is a real world application with
a myriad of uses appealing to all users from digital
photographers to budding graphic designers. It is
also a wonderful test of all round system performance,
specifically memory bandwidth and CPU processing
power. Massive files are also a good test of hard
drive access performance as Photoshop will rely
heavily for its "paging file".

For those of you who are
looking to build a mainstream PC which could be
used for office tasks or image work the ECS 945G-M3
is an ideal candidate for the role as it supports
the latest and greatest Pentium CPU’s. Therefore
the results of our Photoshop tests become particularly
relevant as it is an application used in many
areas of employment.
We see from the results
that the ECS board does well against the Intel
reference board which is similar to the models
you will find in OEM PC’s, There isn’t
a great gap in performance however over the lifetime
of the PC these small increases in timesaving
do mount up.
