Final Words and Conclusion
What we did like
The Enermax Jazz enclosures are very well built and the aluminium chassis not only looks beautiful but are very well machined and strong. For the time being you are given the choice of two colors for all Jazz enclosures, silver and black. The enclosures look very well in both colors, so you should merely choose the color that matches the rest of your hardware. The Jazz enclosures perform well (see previous testing page for information on this).
What we would like to see improved
The perforated top mesh looks great and the fact that you can see the top of the installed drives is something people may like, but on the other hand it is somewhat dangerous as well. If any kind of liquid spills on the unit, your drive is as good as dead. It provides virtually no protection to the drive against liquids and we will surmise it will get dusty in there as well over time. The 3.5” version can be cleaned very easily, but the 2.5” drive which is not so easy to crank open might be a hassle.
Who we would recommend it to
The Enermax Jazz enclosures are fine HDD cases suitable for almost everybody, as long as you like the way they look. They are solidly built, good looking and easy to use. For the 3.5” Jazz enclosures especially, people who swap their drives often will love the convenience its toolless design offers. If you are looking for external HDD enclosures, the Enermax Jazz line-up should be into your shortlist
