Final words and conclusion
The HPC-1200 unit is a good product overall, although it is not flawless. The most positive points are the high efficiency and the aggressive pricing, especially when compared to other units with a similar power output. The build quality is top class and Sirtec have hand selected a good variety of high quality components for the construction. Aesthetically the unit is pleasing and elegant, as long as you have a chassis large enough to accommodate the extra length. The HPC-1200 remains quiet under normal load, that being around or below 500 watts, more than any system would require under casual usage. Therefore it should be always silent when you are performing casual tasks such as web browsing or playing media and should only become audible when the system is under very heavy load, such as when playing a game. Potential buyers should of course be running the latest high end hardware with an SLI or Crossfire based system, otherwise it will be a wasted purchase.
The only real problem of the unit is the sluggish voltage regulation circuit, which reacts slowly to extreme load shifts. Our extreme laboratory testing conditions are not likely to mirror normal everyday power consumption variances, however it is possible that in a small percentage of cases the voltage drops might affect the stability of the system.
Taking everything into consideration and particularly the world-class build quality and performance of the High Power RockSolid 1200W unit, it earns our DriverHeaven’s Shortlist Award. If the unit had more responsive voltage regulation circuitry it would have earned the Editor's Choice Award.
