Conclusion

The Hipergroup Type-M 5M730 unit is a very well built unit which also performs to a very high standard. It doesn’t excel in any area, that being performance, aesthetics or even pricing, but it manages to maintain a very good balance between them all.

It is aesthetically pleasing, being simple and tidy without excessive LED lights or bright colours. It performs very well on power delivery and regulation, as well as efficiency and noise. The included USB hub and stronger 5VSB rail is a welcome addition to users who have many USB devices, making the 5M730 one of the best high class PSUs for them.

Although the 8-pin PCIe connectors are not necessary and they are only ‘unlocking’ the overclocking capabilities of the latest top-end video cards, we do feel that the unit should have 8-pin PCIe connectors since it is powerful enough. This might disappoint the overclockers who might have set their eyes on this particular unit. That aside, the Type-MII 5M730 unit is a well balanced, powerful unit and should be in everybody’s shortlist when looking for a powerful but not excessive power supply unit.

We believe that the Hiper Type-MII 5M730 unit is worthy of our DriverHeaven’s Shortlist award.
