MemTach is
another synthetic RAM benchmark, although more thorough
that most other benchmarks. The results here are
just as expected, with the RAM being a little faster
at 240MHz again, although barely by one and a half
second.

CS2 is an application which can also make a very
good benchmark. It could easily be one of the best
real world benchmarks available for testing the
processor and RAM speed. As the processor’s
speed here is the same, it is clear that the higher
RAM speed provides the performance boost. The performance
boost is no more than two seconds across the whole
benchmark, but every little bit counts, especially
if you are using Photoshop professionally and on
a regular basis.

Doom 3 is
a very popular first person shooter game, which
includes a time demo benchmark as well. We ran this
benchmark 4 times, discarding the first run and
calculated the average result out of the other 3
runs. Here the difference between the scores is
small, mainly because Doom 3 is affected by the
RAM timings and the fast timings at 200MHz nullify
the performance gap, but there is a small performance
difference nonetheless.
