Final
words and conclusion
What
we did like:
The
OCZ PC2-7200 Special Ops Edition modules offer
a great price to performance ratio. They cost
almost as little as value series modules and are
rated for higher performance. They are a great
choice for budget minded enthusiasts and gamers
who like to overclock their systems, but aren’t
aiming to beat online benchmark scores. They can
also sustain better timings than those they are
rated for.
What we did not like:
The
Special Ops Edition modules are good for their
price range, but their overclocking capability
is limited. It was rather hard to hit 1066MHz
with these modules and remain fully stable, something
we didn’t face with most high quality PC2-6400
sets we tested up to date. They should not be
bought in order to achieve extreme memory speeds.
Who we would recommend it to:
Due
to the retail price, we can easily recommend the
OCZ PC2-7200 S.O.E. to anyone who is shopping
for quality DDR2 RAM, amateur and enthusiast alike.
They perform very well for their money and offer
some overclocking headroom. They will be a good
choice for casual overclockers, gamers, and even
people who simply work with their systems on a
day to day basis.
Considering the above, we present the OCZ PC2-7200
Special Ops Edition kit with our Editor’s
Choice award.

What do these awards
mean?
The
average price of the OCZ PC2-7200 S.O.E. modules
is a very competitive 270€ in EU at the time
of this review.
