Article: Allan "Zardon" Campbell
As you can see from the previous pages, this ram LOVES voltage, the more you can give it the higher it overclocks. Quite substantial gains were possible from the 434 DDR rated figures given from OCZ. I was able to push this ram to 486 DDR at 5-2-2-2CAS timings by pumping it with 3.2 volts, giving 6884.0 mbytes per second ratings in CTlaw V2.7/as and almost 12,000 points in pcmark02, quite incredible figures, almost DDR500/4000 speeds with tighter 2CAS timings. For those of you on AMD systems, DDR434 is achievable with much lower voltages without any hitches, if your motherboard can handle it. Please note 3.2 volts was only for the purpose of this overclocking article, this falls outside OCZs warranty specifications. Speaking with OCZ recently
im really impressed with their attitude and policies "We offer
a Lifetime warranty on every memory module we sell. We back this warranty
with friendly, courteous staff that is willing to answer any question.
At OCZ, if a staff member cannot answer your question, they will be
forthright and put you in touch with a technician or engineer who
can properly assist you. OCZ Technology is in tune with the needs
of enthusiasts and overclockers alike, because we are just like you.
Chances are you may have already spoken with an OCZ employee in a
hardware forum, as we do bring our work home. We seek motivated, qualified
applicants, whom already have a firm grasp, and a passion for the
PC. Our technicians are available to answer your questions anytime,
and our "technical" section can be referenced at anytime.
After seeing how well this OCZ3500 overclocks and performs in real life situations I find it hard to argue.
