F.E.A.R.

F.E.A.R. is one of the few games on the market which utilises dual core CPU’s so it’s ideal for testing the performance of the Pentium D, its also a useful test to see how much extra performance the newer memory could give your CPU. Testing was performed at 1280x960 with 4xAA and 16xAniostropic Filtering applied in-game. Soft shadows were off. We chose this resolution as its one that people may actually use in real gaming scenarios.

Like the Photoshop test we see that the DDR2-800 has a small performance improvement over the older DDR2-667. What’s most interesting about the result here is that the difference in performance is the difference between stuttery and smooth gameplay. The drop to 24fps would introduce a noticeable stutter in the 667 system which you wouldn’t see using the OCZ sticks.
