Packaging and the modules

The OCZ PC2-6400 Crossfire edition modules come in a plastic packaging, common for OCZ modules. The modules themselves are rather appealing. The XTC heatspreader which OCZ developed is painted metallic red and has a large ATi logo right at the middle of the module, replacing the OCZ logo found on other XTC heatspreaders. The red metallic paint is highly reflective and very appealing, but ruined by the green PCB. A red or black PCB would be a much better match.

Packaging and the modules

The Crucial Ballistix PC2-6400 SLI-Ready modules come in factory sealed antistatic packages. The modules are usually shipped in a cardboard box, which is thick enough to protect the module under most circumstances. Crucial recently changed the appearance of the Ballistix and Tracer series with a new heatspreader. The new heatspreader is mostly yellow, much like the older design; however the Ballistic logo has been moved towards the right side of the heatspreader. Also a nickel frame was added, which in conjunction with the black PCB makes the modules look great. The nickel plating reflects the light and makes the modules easy to notice, even in the dark.
