F.E.A.R.

F.E.A.R. contains some of the most demanding graphics currently available. Visit most forums and you’ll no doubt find people thoroughly depressed over how low they have to set the detail levels to get the game up and running at a respectable pace with their hardware. For our testing soft shadows are off.

When F.E.A.R. was first released there wasn't a hope that any mainstream card could provide playable performance at 1280x960 with 4xAA and 16xAF. Things change quickly in the world of graphics cards and nowadays mainstream cards such as those being tested today provide some very good average frames per second performance. With AA and AF applied the two 256mb cards fall slightly below the 25fps threshold. The Palit GT's enhanced specifications allow it to remain playable at these settings which is a great reason to purchase this card when compared to the others.
