Bundle and Extras

The bundle provided with Rocks Xtreme CTX is quite minimal in most respe

cts, they provide a standard XP install (Home or Pro) and Rock also provide Bullguard Antivirus, Works V8, Roxio burning software in addition to a trial of Office 2003. Also bundled is a power supply, standard carry case and modem cable. Really these are all that is required for everyday general use.

There are however two stand out features, the first is the use of PC Angel as a restore option. This software allows an end user to restore the laptop to its shipping configuration and is very simple to use in addition to being exceptionally quick. If anything goes seriously wrong with the system on a software level the time to get back up and running again is approximately 1 hour.

The second feature which makes the Rock CTX stand out from the crowd is the multi purpose drive bay which was mentioned earlier in the article. It is possible to buy a second battery with the CTX and if required the CD Rom drive can be removed and replaced by the second battery. For long journeys this gives almost double the battery time and is a fantastic idea.
