The strongest points of
the VertiCool II and DiamondCool II coolers are
their silent operation and good performance. We
loved the ease of installation of the DiamondCool
II cooler. The attention Spire put into the little
details, such as the sleeved wires and the use
of UV reactive spider fans, add to the value of
the coolers. Finally, both coolers are affordable,
so you do not have to worry about selling your
living room furniture in order to buy one.
What we did not
like:
Each cooler had only one
negative point. The DiamondCool II is a good performer,
but it is also considerably heavy. Just make sure
that you will mount it tightly and that should
not prove to be a problem. The flaw of the VertiCool
II lies with the installation method on Athlon
CPU’s, which requires the removal of the
fan. I would not class this as a major issue,
but it could have been avoided.
Who would we recommend
it to:
The VertiCool II cooler
is a very good performer and as a added bonus
it is almost silent and fairly light. It is also
not monstrously large and should not pose any
installation problems. It is also a good cooler
for people who tend to mildly overclock without
increasing processor core voltage.
The DiamondCool II is also
a very good performer, which excels on heavier
loads. It should be a better cooler for high end
and dual core processors, as well as overclocked
systems. It should prove to be a better choice
for enthusiasts who like to push their machines
quite a bit without having a loud fan driving
them crazy.
Considering
the above, we believe that the DiamondCool II
and VertiCool II coolers are worthy of our Heavenly
Hardware Silver Award.
