The biggest selling point
of the Amanda cooler is its performance, which
is truly outstanding. It can easily rival any
conventional air cooler with ease. Not only that,
but it is silent while at it too! The two fans
spin at only 1500RPM, allowing the cooler to be
barely audible at a close distance. The Amanda
looks very good, partly due to the size which
is surely impressive, but also because of the
design and the silver bladed fans.
What we did not
like:
The problem with this cooler
is the incredible size and weight. It is a massive
cooler which will not fit inside any small case
and weighs over 1Kgr. If you move your PC often
(e.g. Lanparties) that can be quite a problem.
Additionally there is the high power consumption
associated with a TEC, but with Titan’s
clever selection of a low power TEC and the clever
power management this particular problem is minimized.
Another downside will be the cooler’s price,
which quite possibly makes the Amanda the most
expensive air cooler currently available.
Who would we recommend
it to:
The Amanda is designed
primarily with enthusiasts and over clockers in
mind. Of course anyone can use it, but it will
be over clockers not wishing to delve into water
or phase cooling who will really appreciate this
behemoth unit. The cooler is also one of the quietest
we have had in our labs so this is another hugely
strong selling point for anyone contemplating
a purchase.
Considering the above,
we believe that the Amanda is definitely worthy
of our ShortList Award. It has it’s share
of drawbacks, but the performance is nothing short
of impressive.
