ULTRA 700W XVS PSU:
Included with this case is a very nice 700W
PSU. The Ultra XVS Modular PSU provides
ample power for the most demanding of systems. Let’s
first take a look at the specifications:
Take a close look at that 12V
AMP rating! 40A
on a single 12V Rail is quite impressive! Notice,
too, that the 12V Rail utilizes 480W of power. This
PSU is definitely not a cheap add-in component
like many other companies tend to provide just
to attract sales.
So, let’s see how it all
fits together and performs. Does the case
and PSU live up to the hype?
What we put into the case
ASUS A8R-32 MVP Deluxe motherboard;
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ CPU (939);
2 GB (2x1) Dual Channel Mushkin DDR RAM;
Four IDE HDDs;
One DVD/RW;
One Floppy Drive;
One PowerColor X1950 Pro PCI Express video card;
One Ultra Chill Tec CPU Cooler (Reviewed soon!)
One Promise Ultra DMA100 PCI card.
I believe it can be stated without fear of contradiction
that this system will place some heavy demand
on the PSU.
A CLOSE UP of the 700W XVS Modular PSU:
Let’s take a good look at the PSU that
Ultra has included with this GRID ATX Case:
Both Sides have additional Ventilation.
Power connection, Voltage Selection,

We’re going to see what the 12V, 5.0V,
and 3.3V readings are under three different states
of the system:
