Bioshock

Bioshock like many recent titles uses the Unreal 3 engine. We have the in-game options set to their highest level and 1280x768 was used in conjunction with various anisotropic filtering levels.

Using the above settings with 16x anisotropic filtering, both the 2600 XT and the 8600 GT struggle to provide us with useable performance. In order to game at a resolution which suits high definition displays a decision has to be made to reduce anisotropic filtering levels and some detail settings within the game. Moving to 8x anisotropic with texture level moved down a notch gave us performance which was much more desirable.
