Installation:

Here are the rest of the components you get with the 03-L-7004 version of the Xternal. What basically differ between this particular cooling unit and the other versions is that it comes with all three water blocks from Asetek; CPU, VGA and the chipset block. Everything needed is included in this kit; even a syringe with anti algae fluid is supplied.

Installing the blocks onto the CPU and my 7800GTX was very easy, but unfortunately I had to skip installing the chipset block onto my DFI NF4 Lanparty motherboard. The location of the chipset is located in direct proximity to the PCIe 16x slot so it was impossible to get this fitted.

Here are some shots with the CPU and VGA block installed.

Then the hoses, USB cable and the 12v Molex where connected as can be seen in this picture.

Now it was time to fill the system up, the cap to the reservoir was easily unscrewed using a coin.

First we filled the reservoir with distilled water and started the pump by jump starting the PSU, Asetek have supplied a little piece of wire that you connect between pin 13(black wire) and 14(Green wire) on the ATX header in order to power on the PSU without connecting it to the motherboard. This is necessary in order to not risk frying your system in case of leaks.

When the system was completely filled and bled of all the air we added the anti algae fluid supplied by Asetek. Then all the cables were reattached to the motherboard and to our delight everything booted up fine.
