The
software:
When Windows
had finished loading it was time to load up the
12v Pump Control Panel software provided with the
kit. We had a look at this software last summer
when we reviewed the WaterChill KT03A-12VS kit.
This is a
very nifty program indeed, because of the USB controlled
pump almost everything can be controlled and altered
via this software. The RPM of the pump can be altered
between 2880RPM -3780RPM to work out the perfect
balance between noise and cooling. (Although I could
only hear the pump if I had my ear about 5cm from
it at full blast) The fan speed can also be altered
from 20% in .1 increments all the way to 100%. What
also was an excellent feature with this kit was
that it is wired so that you can control the two
pairs of fans individually. So it is possible to
completely turn off one of the pairs to keep the
noise levels to a minimum if so desired.
The LCD can
also be controlled from the control panel being
able to show all the data plus custom user text.
You can also alter brightness and contrast. Comprehensive
indeed.
You can also
make specific profiles in the software, for instance
if you want to fine-tune your fan and pump speeds
for different occasions, lets say “extreme
performance” they are conveniently accessible
from your system tray.
Under the
Fan Control tab you can also set automated setpoints
for the fans, which reacts to the temp sensors inside
the Xternal.
