F.E.A.R. contains some of the most demanding graphics currently available. Visit most forums and you’ll no doubt find people thoroughly depressed over how low they have to set the detail levels to get the game up and running at a respectable pace with their hardware. F.E.A.R. displays similar characteristics as Half Life 2 before it. The X1900GT stays in the lead with the average rate a good 10 fps above the 7800GT and a less noticeable 4 fps above the 7900GS. All cards manage to run the game at the highest possible settings with absolutely no cases where the performance would drop by noticeable levels. The 7900GS and X1900GT are both capable of running at higher resolutions, with some sacrifices made to anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, while the 7800GT shows its age by staying just above the low fps threshold.
