F.E.A.R. contains some
of the most demanding graphics currently available.
Visit most forums and you’ll no doubt find
people thoroughly depressed over how low they
have to set the detail levels to get the game
up and running at a respectable pace with their
hardware. For our testing soft shadows are off.

F.E.A.R.’s
performance figures show that at 1600x1200 with
4xAA and 16xAF the X1950XTX is a reasonable number
of FPS ahead of the X1900XT and a further couple
ahead of the 7900GTX. Interestingly when we move
up to 2048x1536 we see that the X1950XTX stays
ahead of the 7900GTX on average statistics however
the GTX manages to outperform the X1950XTX on
the min FPS figure, in fact the 7900GTX is playable
at this ultra high setting.
