Overclocking The X800XT limits when overclocked were 555mhz core from 520mhz core and 600/1200mhz ram from 560/1120mhz, a reasonable overclock especially considering the high speeds at stock. The cooling was not altered from default so further gains will be given when the card gets into the hands of the modders. I would consider these overclocks to be a reasonable indication of an "average" overclock, if there is such a thing. results will of course vary from board to board. At the time the board was supplied the only way to successfully overclock the X800 board was via an internal ATI tool which im really not at liberty to detail. These are the maximum clocks achieved without artifacting, 1200mhz ram awesome !
A very tasty set of figures even before overclocking, taken that little bit further by the headroom the XT board has leftover. Never before have I seen a game like farcry being playable at 1600x1200 with 4AA and 16 aniso. Shader performance is first class as verified by Shadermark 2s incredible set of results with no failures even in "anti detect" mode.
