Oblivion
has been out for a while now, yet it is still
one of the best looking games available. With
the recent release of Shivering isles gamers around
the world got a new reason to journey to Tamriel,
so once again Bethesda’s behemoth RPG is
a perfect candidate for our performance analysis.

We have a similar situation
on our hands than we had back with the 8600GT
XXX. The extra 100Mhz on the memory don’t
really come into play here, as although the game
has a lot of textures that need to be rendered,
most of the work lies on the GPU side of things.
But even though the card didn’t outperform
the XXX we tested a few months ago, it still managed
to beat every other reference GT on the market,
which is amazing considering the fact that the
card is passively cooled.
