Supreme Commander

Hundreds of tanks drive across the plain, only to meet an early death at the hands of a massive robot. Supreme Commander brings a new meaning to the word huge battles! We recorded a match with no AI opponents, but filled with units of all sorts. This ensured that the card was being stressed as hard as possible without skewing the score because of the intensive CPU calculations required.

Although we should not judge a book by its cover, or in this case the Fatal1ty 8600GT by the first few tests, it is fairly obvious that the card wasn’t designed to be used at high resolutions. Some might argue that SC isn’t the most optimized game out there. We agree, but that doesn’t make it any less popular of a game. And although at 1600x1200 the card was clearly running out of steam, the experience at 1280x1200 was near perfect. Considering that a stock 8600GT had issues with the game even at 1280x1024, we can’t be anything else but impressed by how much the Fatal1ty overclock helps.
