Call Of Duty 4
Infinity Ward has chosen to remain with DirectX9 for this title and some highlights include excellent smoke effects and wall textures. We are testing at 1920x1200 with 4x anti-aliasing and no anisotropic filtering.
Call of Duty 4 shows a clear performance advantage for the 8800 GS. With our tested settings the average frames per second figure is eight lower on the Radeon with smaller, but no less significant differences on minimum and maximum results. The minimum framerate does take a drop below twenty-five frames per second on both cards but while the GeForce only has one small stutter during our testing, the Radeon has a couple and would benefit from a move down to 2x anti-aliasing for complete playability.
