Conclusion:

In the current climate with hardware needing more and more juice, 460w seems to be cutting it a bit fine, but as you can see from all our testing, the rails remained very solid throughout. Those of you with more sensitive ears will be pleased to note that the unit is almost silent; I had a hard time hearing it even when holding my ear a few inches from the unit. This isn’t particularly surprising as Zalman’s philosophy always has been to produce the quietest performing units.

Unfortunately at the time of testing we didn’t have the opportunity to test the unit with dual video cards in SLI or Crossfire mode, which certainly puts more stress on the Power supply unit, however it is safe to assume that for high end dual card use, a more powerful supply would be a wise option. We also were a little surprised that Zalman hadn’t gone with the trend of a modular PSU which would have made it more appealing with case modders.

Negatives aside we can really recommend this PSU to anyone needing a silent, well performing Power Supply unit, and if you are thinking of building a SFF or HTPC system this should definitely be on your shortlist, however to be truly great value (especially considering the relatively modest output) the product needs to marketed at a more competitive price.
